leisure
industry
The leisure industry focuses on recreation and entertainment in all its forms, and we have been deeply involved in specific parts of that industry since our founding. Our expertise lies in the design and verification of unique structures and staging used for video walls, concerts, events, and spectacles. Over the past 10 years, we have had the privilege of working on projects for world-famous artists such as Bon Jovi, Rammstein, Robbie Williams, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Indochine, Beyonce, and many more. We have also provided design and simulation services for events like the Eurovision Song Festival, the Olympic Games, and several sports events. Most recently, we have been working on the design of virtual studio domes that make shooting movies outdoors unnecessary. Our designs present many engineering challenges that require extensive simulation work, with a special focus on the effects of the environment (wind, earthquakes, etc.) on the safety of the structure and spectators. Additionally, since these structures need to be assembled and disassembled multiple times, we prioritize flexibility and safety every time.
Another area of the leisure industry we are involved in is the design and verification of theme park attractions, such as carousels, coasters, ferris wheels, dark rides, etc. In these applications, the materials and components are often subjected to complex and highly dynamic loading spectra, making fatigue an ever-present mechanism that we take into account. Ensuring the safety of passengers is our top priority in these designs. We have conducted simulation work according to the European standard EN 13814, the US code ASTM F2291, and the Chinese GB 8408, and have assisted in writing the operations and safety manuals and the certification process, when necessary.
Furthermore, we have also been involved in playground equipment, including trampolines, climbing towers, and slides, according to EN 1176. For exhibitions and shows, we regularly verify modular stands, stages, staircases, suspended structures, railing, floor panels, and more.
consumer
products
The term "consumer products" encompasses a vast range of items purchased by the average person. The case studies provided here serve as just a few examples.
Designing and verifying consumer products presents unique challenges not often found in construction or industrial equipment. Materials used, such as plastics, composites, and rubbers, often have non-standardized properties, and factors like creep, strain rate dependence, and temperature-dependent behavior must be considered. Additionally, the unpredictable ways in which customers may use or abuse a product make load determination difficult, while environmental factors like humidity and temperature must also be taken into account. This means that designing and verifying consumer goods requires extensive engineering expertise and a case-by-case approach.
architecture &
construction
The construction industry, depending on how one defines it, may well be the largest industrial sector. It relies heavily on experience and validated design principles, which has made it slower to embrace new techniques such as numerical simulations compared to other sectors like mechanical engineering. Additionally, the industry is heavily regulated, making it a challenge to integrate simulation work with rigid codes.
However, there is a growing acceptance of simulation techniques in the construction industry, particularly as structures become leaner, lighter, and more durable, utilizing materials beyond traditional steel, aluminum, and concrete, such as composites, plastics, and glass hybrids. With the increasing complexity of structures, including smarter connections, complex shapes, and diverse loading conditions from high winds, impacts, and earthquakes, detailed simulation models are essential for arriving at a safe and optimized structure. Our extensive experience in design and verification enables us to meet national, European, and US standards for your structures.
energy &
process
The energy and process industry is a vast and critical sector, encompassing a wide range of applications from steel production and metal forming to renewable energy and nuclear power. At our company, we have extensive experience and expertise in performing complex numerical simulations for this industry, helping our clients to optimize their designs, improve safety and efficiency, and reduce costs.
Our team has worked on numerous projects in this field, including the long-term thermomechanical analysis of refining cells, seismic design, and the design of steelmaking machinery. In the nuclear industry, we have designed reactor lids, hoisting platforms, containers, rolling bridges, and Borium baskets, while in renewable energy, we have developed algae reactors, solar panel constructions (both private and industrial scale), solar concentrators, radiation panels, bearing houses for windmills, heat recuperation systems, solar trackers, and bio rotors. Our expertise also extends to explosion safety, where we have designed pressure discs, valves, filters, and other critical components, as well as to rotating machinery, including stir axles for waste water treatment, fans, turbines, and more.
Whether you are looking to optimize a specific process, improve the efficiency of your energy production, or ensure the safety of your workers and equipment, our team has the expertise and experience to deliver high-quality simulations tailored to your needs. We can work with you to design and verify your structures and machinery according to the most rigorous national and international standards, ensuring that your project meets all necessary requirements and delivers optimal results.
